  • Technology-wise, the Volvo XC60 comes with a Volvo Sensus-backed infotainment system.
  • Safety-wise, the Volvo XC60 packs more airbags than the Acura RDX and comes with four years of Volvo On-Call Service.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 vs. The 2017 BMW X3

  • Performance-wise, the Volvo XC60 packs more base horsepower and more base torque than the BMW X3, and the Volvo XC60 carries a slightly better base fuel economy in the city.

  • Looking inside, the Volvo XC60 offers more passenger space and more trunk space than the BMW X3.
  • The Volvo XC60 breaks away from its competition thanks to its interior graced with Volvo Sensus Technology.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 vs. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC

  • The Volvo XC60's 2.0-liter I4 Drive-E Turbo engine packs more horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz GLC's 2.0-liter I4 Turbo.
  • Unlike the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Volvo XC60 is standard in all-wheel drive.
  • In matters of fuel efficiency, the Volvo XC60 is the only one that is available as a hybrid model.
  • In matters of technology, the Volvo XC60 stands out with its Volvo Sensus technology.
  • The Volvo XC60 also separates itself from its competition by offering the Volvo On-Call Service and a standard Engine Immobilizer.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 vs. The Cadillac XT5

  • Right away, you get more with the XC60, because the XT5 doesn't offer as much cargo space, even with the seats folded, so go ahead and pack the gear in for the long weekend.
  • Not only does the Volvo XC60 offer more fuel efficiency on its all-wheel-drive models than the Cadillac XT5's all-wheel-drive models, but it delivers better fuel economy than the XT5's FWD trims.
  • The XC60 features the Volvo On Call feature with Smartphone Integration, plus SiriusXM Satellite Radio on its base trim, but the XT5 only offers SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
  • On the base trim, the XC60 offers a package that equips Blind Spot Information System, Steer Assist, and Cross-Traffic Alert. The Cadillac XT5 doesn't provide Steer Assist, and the other two features are only available as of the Luxury trim level.
  • While the Cadillac XT5 offers one engine -- a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower -- the XC60 offers several engine options. These include a T8 eAWD Twin Engine Plug-In Hybrid option with 400 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter engine with 250 horsepower.
  • The Volvo XC60 offers more rear hip room than the Cadillac XT5, plus more rear shoulder room.
  • To get AWD on the highest trim level Volvo XC60, you'll spend under $50,000, but with the Cadillac XT5, you'll spend more than $60,000 for the highest trim level with AWD.
  • Heated front seats are available in the Volvo XC60 much sooner than they are in the Cadillac XT5, despite costing you less for the luxury.
  • In the Volvo XC60, you get to enjoy the view with a power moonroof, while the Cadillac XT5 only offers an UltraView Sunroof on the Luxury trim level, costing you nearly $6,000 more to upgrade from the previous trim.
  • To have all-wheel drive on the Cadillac XT5, you'll spend more money for the base trim than you will for the Volvo XC60 base trim that has AWD standard rather than requiring an upgrade.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 vs. The Jaguar F-PACE

  • While the Jaguar F-PACE has the luxury of being the brand's first SUV, the Volvo XC60 has the benefit of being fine-tuned through years of trial and error, carefully ensuring your driving experience goes as smoothly as possible. Volvo knows what works, while Jaguar may still need some adjustments in the future.
  • On the base trims, the Jaguar F-PACE will cost you more than the Volvo XC60 will, despite having similar features.
  • The Volvo XC60 offers panoramic moonroof, power seats with massage and ventilation, and a nine-inch touchscreen. Does the Jaguar F-PACE offer all these features on its base trim level?
  • On the base level, you get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay when you go with the Volvo XC60, but on the Jaguar F-PACE you get the InControl software instead.
  • Enjoy the Volvo XC60 for its available Lane Keeping Aid, Rear Park Assist Camera, and Road Sign Information -- all on the base trim. The Jaguar F-PACE offers Lane Keep Assist and Rear Parking Aid on the highest trim level, but does it offer Road Sign Recognition?
  • The Volvo XC60 offers an all-wheel-drive engine with up to 250 horsepower and 28 mpg highway, but the Jaguar F-PACE offers an AWD engine with 247 horsepower and up to 27 mpg highway.
  • What's more, the Jaguar F-PACE only gives you up to 380 horsepower which greatly sacrifices fuel economy, dropping to 23 mpg highway. The XC60? You get up to 400 horsepower with a possible 26 mpg highway with its T8 eAWD Plug-In Hybrid option.
  • In the Jaguar F-PACE, you get up to 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space, while the XC60 offers up to 63.3 cubic feet -- nearly 30 cubic feet more!
  • When you want the latest driver assist features, you'll find them for less in the Volvo XC60 than you will in the Jaguar F-PACE, plus you will need to upgrade your F-PACE to the highest trim to enjoy Emergency Braking.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 vs. The Porsche Macan

  • Paying more for the same great features shouldn't be part of the equation when buying or leasing, but with the Porsche Macan, you will end up dropping more money for similar features to the 2018 Volvo XC60.
  • Cargo space in the Porsche Macan is only up to 17.7 cubic feet, and up to 53 cubic feet with seats down, while the Volvo XC60 offers up to 29.7 cubic feet, and up to 63.3 cubic feet with all seats down.
  • For internet radio apps, both offer access to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, but only the XC60 provides access to Gracenote, Pandora, Stitcher, and TuneIn. The Porsche Macan doesn't list these apps as being available.
  • The Volvo XC60 offers Bowers & Wilkins speakers optional, but the Macan offers Bose or Burmester optional.
  • The steering wheel-mounted controls offer you the chance to use voice-activated commands when you drive the Volvo XC60, but the Porsche Macan does not have this offered on its lower two trims.
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on the Volvo XC60, but with the Porsche Macan you will need to opt-in to have these features equipped, even on a higher trim level.
  • For less money, you can enjoy a DVD Player for your passengers to enjoy when you choose the XC60, letting you enjoy peace and quiet on long trims. The Macan will cost you more to have this feature equipped.
  • The Head-Up Display is listed as being offered on the base trim in the XC60 as an option, while it isn't listed on the lower trim levels of the Macan.
  • With the Volvo XC60, you get access to cornering headlights on the base trim, while the Porsche Macan will cost you more for this feature on its base trim level.
  • Both models offer all-wheel drive, but the Volvo XC60 delivers better fuel economy than the Porsche Macan does.
